Not every student is heading for a four-year college, and that’s fine. The real failure isn’t skipping the bachelor’s degree — it’s graduating without any plan at all. At Dade Prep we’ve built partnerships specifically so students who want a different path have one ready to walk into.
Technical and vocational training
Through our partnership with Miami Dade Technical, students can explore over 75 different career-prep programs. These are hands-on tracks — barbering, HVAC, welding, automotive, healthcare support, IT — designed to land graduates in a working role within roughly a year of completing their training. They’re fast, they’re practical, and the demand for skilled tradespeople is real.
Our long-standing partner Miami Barber Institute is a great example of this pathway in action.
Military service
For students drawn to service, we maintain relationships with local recruiting stations for every branch — Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard. Recruiters can walk students through eligibility, training timelines, signing bonuses, and the GI Bill, which pays for college after service. It’s a serious commitment, and it’s also a path that funds your education and gives you skills employers value.
Higher-education partnerships
For students who want to combine vocational and academic pathways, Miami Dade College, Florida Technical College, and other partners give students multiple ways to layer credentials. See our full list at /academics/community-partnerships.
Talking it through
Whatever direction your student is leaning, our advisors can map the next step concretely — not just “think about it.” Call (305) 969-9448 or visit /contact.
